The world is changing and there is nothing we can do about it. On one hand we - human beings need stability and security on the other hand we need variety. It is therefore important to recognise which aspects of your life you need to secure to be able to deal with changes you can’t control.


Uncertainty makes us uncomfortable and the only way to deal with it is to acknowledge it, observe it and work out which parts we can make certain to feel in control again. 


 Learn how to accept what you can’t change and change aspects of your life that will make you feel safe.

Dealing with Difficult Behaviour      15.9.2020    9am

Do you ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself “ I’m going to be a difficult person to be around today”? Mmmm I don’t think so.  No one does or at least I can’t imagine so.


So why are there difficult people, how can you spot difficult behaviour, what drives people to be difficult and how to handle situations when a conflict is brewing?

Think about time you might have come across as difficult. What was happening in your life or that particular moment? Did you want to be difficult or were you just tired or overwhelmed?

 At this session we will look at different behaviours that may come across as difficult and how to manage your state of mind to avoid or at least minimise conflict.

Is this a new ‘buzz word?’ Maybe but why is it important to be aware of your own emotions and be able to control them?

Emotions run high especially now we live in this weird world of face masks and many restrictions. Life as we knew it has changed for all of us. Being able to control your emotions will help you avoid or at least minimise conflict but also move on from dwelling on an argument or misunderstanding. When we get emotional, the rational thinking goes. I don’t know about you but when my fuse goes it’s better to fly rather than fight. ;)

I bet you know at least one Coach in your life. Be it wellness and fitness coach, life coach, confidence Coach…. I could go on and on but I’m sure you get it. But what is coaching and how can coaching skills help you live a better life and communicate with others in a way that will strengthen your relationships? From Listening to effective questions but most importantly setting a ‘goal’ for every important conversation you are going to have. 

Coaching skills are not just for qualified coaches. It’s a life skill everyone should know because it does make you a better person in that you become more aware of your own state of mind. Coaching also works with children. 

Just to make it clear, this 30 minute mini session will not qualify you as a coach ;)

If you believe people go to work only to earn money you are mistaken. You’d be surprised how very few people are motivated purely by money. 

Everyone has different reasons why they turn up to work. Of course, earning money is important but some people enjoy the community feel and see people they work with as their family. Others want to learn and grow.


You might also come across people who just love their job and it fulfills them even though it doesn’t pay well. What need drives you? Recognition? Hunger for knowledge or belonging. Find out about needs and motivations people have and how this can help you understand people around you better

Building Healthy Boundaries               13.10.2020    9am

Setting healthy boundaries is one of the hardest things to do. Not just in the workplace, but anywhere we come into contact with people. 


We don't like being rejected, so saying no to someone else feels like we are doing just that. Yet saying yes to everything can leave us tired, overwhelmed and lead to burnout. 


The secret to a good compromise is to set boundaries at the beginning. But first, you need to know what your boundaries are and how to communicate them clearly.

Have you ever noticed someone, way past the age of two, behaving like a toddler in the middle of a tantrum? 


Or maybe someone at work is continually rubbing you up the wrong way, and you don’t like it? 


We all operate from three ego states; Parent, Adult and Child, or the so-called transactional analysis - which is the model I use in my interpersonal training because it best describes the actions, reactions and why we (sometimes) respond like children.


This training session explores the three ego states and highlights ways to avoid conflict just by being aware of our own communication and responses.

Do you believe that everyone works and thinks the same way as you? 


A lot of us make this mistake, so we naturally just expect others to understand the world just as we do. 


The thing is, we all receive information and communicate in a different, unique way. 


Some people can’t stand fluff, and will happily walk away if you talk too much. At the same time, some will talk and listen for hours on end. Then we have those who need detailed information about the ins and outs of everything before making a decision, and then there’s the nurturing, caring folk who will put others before themselves. 


...and this is just the beginning. There are so many combinations, but this mini-workshop will look at the four main characteristics of each style, to help you gain a better understanding of those around you.

Listening skills are massively underrated and rarely covered in soft skills training, even though it’s the most important part of every conversation. 


Listening is not just hearing the words; in fact, we hardly pay attention to the words. What matters more is the tone of voice, body language and the micro-expressions that come with the words - even in phone conversations. If you don't believe me, try to lie down on the floor and put your feet up when you need to have a serious or important conversation over the phone. You wouldn't, would you...


This is a quickie which means we will cover the basics and I believe you will find new and interesting facts you didn't know.
